Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT Tester

Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT tester is a battery operated manual hand-held portable appliance tester with auto sequences and 230/110V run test. It can test electrical safety of Class I and Class II appliances. With remote connectivity, appliance status pre-check, fast continuity, 250/500V insulation, substitute leakage, 110V/230V run / leakage, Extension lead test and PRCD testing.   The tester indicates PASS/ FAIL result complying with the criteria of judgement defined in the IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment: 2003.

As a guide, the IEC standard defines these two categories as follows:

Class I: Appliances which have a functional insulation throughout and an earth connected case. These are often described as earthed appliances.

Class II: Appliances which have both functional and additional insulation where any metal parts cannot become “Live” under fault conditions.
