Crystal Engineering was founded in 1982 to exploit the combination of 2 emerging technologies, both based on silicon: large scale integrated circuits and MEMS pressure sensors. Crystal Engineering was acquired by Ametek in 2013, joining one of the world’s leading manufacturers and developers of pressure, temperature and process calibration instruments for a wide range of industries.

Pressure gauges, for example, the XP2i meets Atex approval making this range suitable for use in explosive atmospheres.

Crystal Engineering Equipment is developed and designed to measure pressure, to calibrate other pressure measuring equipment and to diagnose the performance of equipment that depends on pressures within it or applied to it. Crystal Engineering Equipment have a very accurate “of reading” specification and are not affected by temperature. The company’s calibration laboratory is A2LA accredited and recognised by ILAC and its products are DNV certified for Test and Calibration Equipment for ships, high speed and light craft and DNV’s offshore standards.
